National coach Erwin van de Looi has announced the line-up of the Dutch Juniors for the quarter-final match with Young France at the youth European Championship. In the left back position, Tyrell Malacia is preferred over Mitchel Bakker. In midfield there is a starting place for Ferdi Kadioglu. Newcomer Devyne Rensch is sitting on the couch. Jong Oranje seems to start in a 4-4-2 system. The kick-off of the duel with the French in the Bozsik Aréna in the Hungarian capital Budapest is at 6 p.m.

Under the bar, Justin Bijlow of Van de Looi is preferred to Kjell Scherpen. In addition to Malacia, the defense also consists of Jordan Teze. Perr Schuurs and Sven Botman. In midfield, the flanks are occupied by Kadioglu and Calvin Stengs. Dani de Wit and Abdou Harroui have to take care of the control on the middle line. At the forefront, Myron Boadu is joined by Justin Kluivert.

The Dutch Juniors miss a number of important players against France. Teun Koopmeiners, Jurrien Timber and Cody Gakpo are in the final European Championship selection of the Dutch national team. Brian Brobbey, Noa Lang, Deyovaisio Zeefuik have dropped out injured, while Ludovit Reis is absent due to club obligations. If Van de Looi’s team manages to eliminate Young France, a confrontation with the winner of the game between Young Denmark and Young Germany awaits in the semi-final. The semifinal is scheduled for Wednesday 3 June in Aréna Sóstó in Székesfehérvár. The final will be on June 6 at 9 p.m. in Stožice Stadium in Ljubljana. The possible opponents are Spain, Croatia, Portugal and Italy.

The Juniors were able to qualify as group winner for the quarter finals of the youth European Championship in March. The group win was a fact after the resounding 6-1 victory over Young Hungary. Young France finished second in his group. Despite this, the French make a big impression, especially in the rear. The central defense duo, consisting of Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konaté, have won top transfers. Upamecano exchanges RB Leipzig for EUR 42.5 million for Bayern Munich. Konaté leaves the club from Leipzig to continue with Liverpool. His transfer involves an amount of forty million euros.

Line-up of the Dutch Juniors: Bijlow; Teze, Schuurs, Botman, Malacia; Stengs, De Wit, Harroui, Kadioglu; Boadu, Kluivert

Line-up Young France: Meslier; Dagba, Upamecano, Konaté, Maouassa; Tchouameni, Soumaré, Aouar; Diaby, Édouard and Ikoné.
