Luuk de Jong is not leaving for Cádiz, claims Estadio Deportivo. The attacker screened interest from the current number nineteen of LaLiga last month, but reportedly prefers a club with more footballing potential. De Jong would have put a line through the transfer himself, it sounds like in Spain.

It is certain that there will be few opportunities for Luuk de Jong at Barcelona. The striker appeared in the attack against Real Mallorca (0-1 win) and even crowned himself the match winner, but that was mainly due to a laundry list of absentees. It is therefore expected that the attack leader will leave the Catalans this winter, who have hired him from Sevilla until the end of the season. In addition to Cádiz, there also seems to be interest in De Jong from the Turkish league. Besiktas likes to see the striker come.

Cádiz was even in negotiations with Sevilla and Barcelona to agree on a triptych, but the Spanish low flyer seems to be able to whistle to the Dutchman. De Jong has single-handedly put an end to a transfer to Cádiz, as he prefers to end up in a team with more footballing opportunities. From that point of view, Besiktas seems to have a better chance, although it is not known how seriously the Turks’ interest is to be taken at the moment. Fenerbahçe has also cautiously hinted that it is interested in the attacker.

An early return to Sevilla is in any case out of the question. Although the number two in LaLiga is struggling with personnel problems due to the long injuries of Erik Lamela and Suso, he has his sights on the arrival of Riccardo Orsolini. The attacker has to be hired from Bologna, where he has scored two goals in thirteen Serie A appearances this season. The question is whether De Jong will still take action on behalf of Barcelona. He has to miss Wednesday evening’s cup match with Linares due to a suspension, while more and more injured people return.
