Atlético Madrid has finally won again in LaLiga. After an impressive 6-1 victory over Granada in the first league match, two scoreless draws followed and on Saturday Diego Simeone’s team triumphed over Celta de Vigo: 0-2. Due to the three-pointer Atlético can be found in fourth place. The Spanish top club is now preparing for an absolute hit over four days on the first match day of the Champions League: the visit to Bayern Munich.

Simeone’s team went into halftime with a minimal lead thanks to a goal from Luis Suárez, the saves by Jan Oblak and the aluminum. Atlético quickly took the lead in Vigo; after six minutes of play, Suárez received the ball from Manu Sánchez and shot the ball into the right corner. However, Celta grew as the first half progressed and was given countless opportunities to clear the gap.

The imprecise finish and the saves of Oblak stood in the way of a goal from Celta. The goalkeeper skillfully saved on attempts by Iago Aspas, Santi Mina and José Fontán and was lucky when the free-standing Sergio Carreira aimed the ball at the aluminum at the far post. A few minutes it was Celta that got away well when Thomas Lemar aimed the ball from a corner kick directly on the crossbar.

There it is again! Luis Suárez comes out of the dressing room CLEAR! ????

In the opening phase of the second half, the game went up and down considerably and the best chance was for Suárez. However, Iván Villar made the spaces small and prevented a second hit from the Uruguayan. Atlético got more grip on the match after the entrance of Marcos Llorente and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco, but a second goal from los Colchoneros stayed out for a long time. Deep in extra time, Ferreira-Carrasco headed the ball in after a hard shot by Joao Félix on the crossbar: 0-2.
