Daniel Carvajal will make his comeback in the Spanish selection in the coming international period. It is the first time since March 21 that national coach Luis Enrique has called up a Real Madrid player. In November, Spain will play the decisive World Cup qualifiers against Greece (11 November) and Sweden (14 November).

Carvajal’s last international match for Spain dates from September 3, 2020, when la Roja in the Nations League with a 1-1 draw against Germany. The Real Madrid right-back missed a large part of the first months of this calendar year due to a thigh injury. He then missed the European Championship due to a muscle injury. Carvajal started the current season fit, but was soon sidelined again due to calf problems.

In addition to Carvajal, Ansu Fati is also making his comeback in the Spanish selection. After a lingering knee injury, the 19-year-old left winger impressed again in the Barcelona shirt last month. The talent may be waiting for his first international match since October 13, 2020.

Spain is by no means certain of qualifying for the World Cup. Luis Enrique’s team is second in Group B, two points behind leader Sweden. If Spain does not win the mutual duel this month, it may have to play a play-off for World Cup qualification.
