Louis van Gaal will soon become the national coach of the Dutch national team for the third time. The NOS reports that the negotiations between the KNVB and Van Gaal are in the final phase. The intended national coach will be tasked with leading the the Dutch squad to the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November next year.

The broadcaster confirms that Henk Fraser and Danny Blind should become Van Gaal’s assistants. Fraser is trainer of Sparta Rotterdam and will possibly combine the position with the Dutch national team. Van Gaal also worked with Blind at the Dutch between 2012 and 2014. Then the coaching duo reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Brazil. It is unclear whether Blind will leave the supervisory board at Ajax if he starts working for the KNVB.

It is also still unknown who will be Van Gaal’s goalkeeper coach. The most obvious name is Frans Hoek, who worked with Van Gaal at Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and the Dutch national team. The 64-year-old Hoek is currently the technical director of the Dutch County SC, a second-level club in the United States.
