Turkey will play its upcoming Nations League matches in League C. The team of national coach Senol Günes lost 2-0 in and against Hungary on Wednesday-evening and is relegated on the basis of a mutual result against Serbia from League B. Hungary is promoted with eleven points from six matches to League A. In the remaining game, Serbia did what it had to do: win against Russia and that also happened with a tremendous force majeure (5-0). Russia was level with Hungary until the last day of play, but fell completely through the lower limit.

After nine minutes of play, the 1-0 appeared on the scoreboard. An attack from Serbia shifted from left to right, after which Nemanja Radonjic slashed inward and his firm shot was diverted by Daler Kuzyayev. Goalkeeper Guilherme had no chance: 1-0. Fifteen minutes later, a wonderful team hit from Serbia followed. The ball went over several discs without even a Russian being able to come in and after a cross from Filip Mladenovic from the left, Luka Jovic headed the ball in from close range: 2-0.

Serbia struck twice more in the final minutes before half-time. Guilherme could only half turn a shot from outside the box, after which Dusan Vlahovic used the rebound from close range: 3-0. The fourth goal in extra time was a copy of the 2-0: Mladenovic passed the ball wonderfully from the left, after which Jovic put his head against the ball and again defeated Guilherme. Only one goal was added in the second half: Mladenovic got the ball from Vlahovic in time and shot diagonally.

The hits at Hungary – Turkey fell after the break. In the 56th minute, Mert Gunok tapped a shot from substitute Kevin Varga against the left post, after which David Siger reacted faster and cashed in on the rebound from close range. Deep in the extra time the final blow fell for Turkey. A corner was turned off, after which Varga reached the ball just a little earlier than Nazim Sangare. The substitute completed a rush of about seventy meters with a shot to the left corner. Gunok was back on the ball, but not enough: 2-0.
