Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has returned to full training but may lack match fitness to start in their league opener.
After missing the pre-season tour of Austria and jetting off for international duty with England, Trent Alexander-Arnold has barely seen Jurgen Klopp this summer. Neco Williams has featured heavily in pre-season as a result and is ready if required.
Klopp is said to keen on using a double-pivot at times this season with Roberto Firmino playing as a 10 and Takumi Minamino up front. Liverpool could line-up in that formation here.
