Liverpool is diligently looking for a replacement for Virgil van Dijk. The central defender suffered a serious knee injury in the derby against Everton (2-2) last week and has been out of circulation for at least six months. Several quitters have been linked to the English superpower in recent days, but according to the latest reports, the club is now thinking of a deal in Germany.

Both RMC Sport as the Daily Mirror reports Liverpool have reported to Schalke 04 for Ozan Kabak. Manager Jürgen Klopp is said to be charmed by the twenty-year-old central defender, who will be with the Bundesliga club until mid-2024. Liverpool is willing to pay a lot of money to snare the four-time international of Turkey.

The Reds initially want to offer about 22 million euros for the defender, who is also on the radar of AC Milan, among others. Variables can increase this amount by another 14 million. Schalke 04 still demanded an amount of approximately 45 million euros for Kabak last summer, but would now be satisfied with an amount of between 30 and 40 million.

The Athletic and other English media previously indicated that Kabak was high on the list. In addition to the Turk, Ben White (Brighton & Hove Albion), Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig) and Ezequiel Garay, among others, were also linked with a transfer to Anfield. The latter defender has been transfer-free since his departure from Valencia last summer.
