Alisson Becker and Liverpool have agreed a new deal. The English top club announced through the official channels on Wednesday evening that the goalkeeper has signed a contract until the summer of 2027. Liverpool also announced the contract extensions of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho this week; both are now on the payroll of until mid-2026 the Reds.

“I didn’t have much time to think about this,” Alisson explains his decision to sign. “This is something we have built together over the past three years. The confidence, the faith that I have in the club and the faith that the club has in me. My family and I feel comfortable here. I am very happy with this decision, but it was one that was not difficult at all for me.”

Alisson, who turns 29 in October, made the switch from AS Roma to Liverpool in the summer of 2018 for 72.5 million euros. He thus became the most expensive goalkeeper of all time, although that record was broken four weeks later by Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea transferred eighty million euros to Athletic Club. Alisson has been under the bar in 130 official matches against Liverpool and kept a clean sheet 57 times.

Alisson played a major role in winning the league title, the Champions League and the World Cup for club teams. The goalkeeper, who finished seventh in the Ballon d’Or election in 2019, will also be remembered for a long time for his striking header in the 95th minute of the away game against West Bromwich Albion. Last season’s game therefore ended in 1-2 and was crucial in the Merseyside club’s hunt for a Champions League ticket.
