Rhian Brewster continues his career with Sheffield United. The twenty-year-old attacker comes over from Liverpool and is likely to be presented this Friday, reports The Athletic. Brewster has already gone through the medical examination Thursday evening and Friday morning. Social media is particularly amazed at the financial details of the deal between Liverpool and Sheffield United.

According to the usually well-informed journalist David Ornstein, an amount of converted 26 million euros is transferred to the sale of Brewster. In addition, Liverpool will receive 15 percent of the lump sum payment for a future transfer from the striker. If the Reds regretting the deal themselves, they have the option of bringing Brewster back to Anfield for the next three years via a buyback clause. It is not known what amount Liverpool would have to pay in that case.

Many social media users note that Liverpool has struck a remarkably favorable deal. Brewster is selling for a much higher amount than its estimated value at Transfer market of 5.4 million euros. The Englishman, whose contract at Anfield continued for another three years, has not yet played a single game in the Premier League. He made the switch from Chelsea’s youth academy to that of Liverpool in 2015, but is hardly used by trainer Jürgen Klopp.

Brewster played three cup games at the start of the 2019/20 season and was stored at Swansea City in January 2020. In the service of the Championship club, he played twenty games, in which Brewster scored ten goals. The youth international of England only played as a substitute this season in the game for the Community Shield against Arsenal; Liverpool lost the match due to his missed penalty kick in the final penalty series. According to The Athletic Crystal Palace and Aston Villa were also interested in his arrival.

Brewster was superfluous at Liverpool. Although the youngster is known as a good finisher, Klopp thinks other aspects of his game are not yet well developed enough to compete with Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino for the striker position. “The FA must investigate how Liverpool keeps getting so much money for transfers,” read one of the comments on Twitter. “How does Liverpool keep getting such inflated amounts of money for young players who have not proven themselves?”
