Liverpool have waved goodbye to four players just before the close of the English transfer market. In England, players were allowed to change clubs before 6 p.m. Dutch time and have them there the Reds made use of by hiring three talents and selling one to clubs at one or two lower levels. Harry Wilson, Harvey Elliott and Herby Kane will play in the Championship, Ben Woodburn is hoping to play in League One this season.

A few hours before the deadline, Liverpool announced that Wilson is temporarily leaving. The 23-year-old midfielder scored 7 goals in 31 games on behalf of Bournemouth last season, but is not yet considered ripe by manager Jürgen Klopp for the big work at Anfield. He is on loan to Cardiff City, the current number sixteen in the Championship.

Elliott is also leaving temporarily. Klopp already called on him a number of times in the Premier League last season and the 17-year-old attacking midfielder therefore hoped that he could be of value to the first team this season. However, the German trainer has decided otherwise and has given the green light for a departure. With the arrival of Diogo Jota, prospects were not rosy for Elliott, who is being rented to Blackburn Rovers.

Liverpool says goodbye to Kane. The 21-year-old midfielder has not been allowed to make his debut in the shirt of the reigning national champion. He is leaving for Barnsley for 1.4 million euros. Woodburn may still hope for a future at Liverpool. He goes to work at Blackpool, playing in the League One. Liverpool earlier said goodbye to Ki-Jana Hoever (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Rhian Brewster (Sheffield United).
