Lionel Messi has only just landed at Paris Saint-Germain, but is already said to be in talks about his future after joining France. The Daily Mirror reports that David Beckham, owner of Inter Miami, has already spoken with the 34-year-old attacker. According to the British tabloid, Messi would also have purchased six luxury apartments in Miami at the same time.

Messi left Barcelona two weeks ago because the Catalans were unable to let him sign a new contract due to the dramatic financial situation and LaLiga’s Financial Fair Play rules. PSG then acted at lightning speed, so that a few days later he signed a contract that runs until 2023 with an option for an extra season with the French top club. Apparently Messi has already been in talks for when this contract ends.

Messi’s name has long been associated with Inter Miami. “We have the ambition to get the greatest players and Leo Messi is probably the best player of all time. I am optimistic that Messi will play in the Inter Miami shirt because I believe it will complete the legacy of the greatest player of our generation and fit the ambitions of building a world-class team,” said co-founder owner Jorge Mas in conversation with the Miami Herald. It’s no secret that the owners of Inter Miami are still eager to welcome an absolute superstar to Florida.

In addition, Beckham would also closely monitor the situation of Cristiano Ronaldo – whose contract with Juventus expires in a year. Beckham has reportedly already had talks with Messi. The Argentine can look forward to the same thing as when Beckham himself chose to play in Major League Soccer for Los Angeles Galaxy: the opportunity to become owner of a club in the American league after his career. Inter Miami is currently under coach Phil Neville threatening a place in the play-offs to miss out on the championship.
