Bayern Munich did excellent business in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening. The superpower settled in a direct confrontation with major competitor Borussia Dortmund. The squatter at Signal Iduna Park remained thrilling to the end and could have fallen the other way as well. Thanks to Leroy Sané’s winning, Bayern turned out to be the happiest: 2-3.

Opportunities back and forth in the opening phase at Dortmund against Bayern. On behalf of the visitors, Serge Gnabry hit the side net and Leon Goretzka headed on goalkeeper Roman Burki, while Erling Haaland missed after a wide pass from Giovanni Reyna. Robert Lewandowski then saw his opening goal, which he scored after a good pass from Gnabry, be disallowed for offside.

Just before half time Dortmund took the lead. Raphael Guerreiro approached the back line on the left side of the box and put low back on Marco Reus, who scored with the inside: 1-0. Dortmund could not enjoy that for long, because Bayern equalized before half time. This was due to a free kick by David Alaba, who hit from seventeen meters: 1-1. Mats Hummels quickly tried to get to the back line to stop the ball, but felt wrong.

In the second half, Haaland immediately missed a big chance, after which Bayern struck on the other side. Lucas Hernández, who came up from the left, crossed, after which Lewandowski won the header duel against Manuel Akanji and sent the ball to the far corner: 1-2. Bayern then hit the post in the person of Thomas Müller and saw Coman be bounced by goalkeeper Burki at a big chance. After Gnabry also killed a good chance, substitute Sané decided the game in the eightieth minute.

The wing striker was sent off on the right by Lewandowksi and then dribbled into Dortmund’s 16-meter area. Sané seemed to seek the crowds, but managed to bypass the blockade of Akanji and found the far corner low: 1-3. The game seemed over, but Dortmund immediately made the connection goal. Haaland picked a high pass from Guerreiro out of the air and was off. The Dortmund striker bypassed goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and scored: 2-3. A new beautiful pass from Guerreiro could have resulted in the equalizer, but Reus wasted the opportunity. Lewandowski saw another goal disallowed in injury time due to offside.
