PSV and Feyenoord have their eyes on Konstantinos Evripidou. The sixteen-year-old talent of AEK Larnaca currently resides in the Netherlands and has been invited by both clubs for a trial period, reports Kerkida. The Cypriot source will publish letters on Thursday that PSV and Feyenoord have sent to Larnaca to invite the youngster to an internship.

Evripidou is a central midfielder who plays for the Under-16s of Cyprus and plays in the youth academy of Larnaca. PSV sent a letter to Larnaca on 26 May. Head of youth scouting Rini de Groot writes in the letter that Evripidou is invited to train at De Herdgang and that he can meet ‘all people within the youth academy’. The mentioned period concerns 7 to 13 June, so the internship period has probably already started; the data could still change in consultation with the parties involved, according to De Groot.

PSV announces in the letter that it will pay for the airline tickets and the accommodation of the talent. Feyenoord says it will only pay Evripdou’s travel costs in the Netherlands, plus his stay and that of a parent/representative. The team from Rotterdam invites the midfielder for a trial period with the Under-16s, ‘ideally at the beginning or in the middle of September’. The letter from Feyenoord is dated ‘June 2020’, but according to reports from Cyprus, Evripidou will actually go on an internship at Varkenoord this summer. It is unclear whether the dates of Evripidou’s internship in Rotterdam have already been set.
