Kostas Lamprou will continue his career almost certainly at PEC Zwolle. It Brabants Dagblad reports Monday morning that the goalkeeper of RKC Waalwijk agrees ‘in outline’ with the number thirteen in the Eredivisie last season. Lamprou’s current contract with RKC expires on June 30, which means he can leave for Zwolle on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old can also simply extend his contract with RKC, but a new adventure at PEC apparently has his preference. Lamprou made a big impression under the bar in Waalwijk in the past football season and of all goalkeepers in the Eredivisie, the Greek made the most saves. Lamprou also made no less than three penalty kicks harmless. Partly because of this, RKC managed to maintain itself with fifteenth place at the highest level.

PEC is Lamprou’s seventh club in the Netherlands. From 2009, the experienced goalkeeper successively played for Feyenoord, Excelsior, Willem II, Ajax, Vitesse and RKC Waalwijk. Lamprou did not have the status of first keeper at every club, but despite this, the counter now stands at 206 games. It is not yet known for how many seasons he will sign in Zwolle.

Lamprou is PEC’s second reinforcement for the 2020/21 season. Attacker Slobodan Tedic was already rented from Manchester City last season and he is also active in Zwolle after the summer break. On the other hand, it seems that Kenneth Paal and Rav van den Berg are going to leave PEC in the near future.
