Noa Lang and Mark Fleken will not join the Dutch team in the coming international match. The winger injured his hamstring on Sunday afternoon in the match between Sparta Rotterdam and PSV, while the Brentford goalkeeper did not recover from illness in time. Ronald Koeman calls up Calvin Stengs and Andries Noppert as replacements.

Stengs’ last playing minutes in the Dutch team date from March 2021, when they won 0-7 in and against Gibraltar. Stengs played a total of seven times for the national team.

Five-time international Noppert last played during the World Cup quarter-final against Argentina in December of last year, although he was also in the match selection during the last international match.

In midfield, Koeman cannot rely on Frenkie de Jong, who was injured at FC Barcelona. Mats Wieffer, Teun Koopmeiners, Tijjani Reijnders, Marten de Roon, Steven Berghuis and Joey Veerman can battle it out to see who will play in his place.

In addition to Lang, Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay are not present at the front. Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt is missing from the back line due to an injury. Jeremie Frimpong is in the selection for the first time.

The 24-person selection will gather in Zeist on Monday. On Friday, October 13, the Dutch team will meet leader France in a sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam.

The match against Greece is scheduled for Monday, October 16, which will be played in the OPAP Arena in Athens. Both matches start at 8:45 PM (Dutch time).
