Kingsley Coman does not appear to be playing for Bayern Munich again this season. The French attacker was injured on Saturday afternoon in the home match against FC Köln (2-0). Coman appears to have suffered a muscle injury in his upper leg, and is therefore sidelined for 'several weeks'.

Coman is not having a very happy season in the shirt of der Rekordmeister. He has only managed to score five times so far and has been sidelined several times with various injuries.

It went wrong again against Köln just after half time. He cut down his opponent, after which he immediately grabbed his knee and had to be replaced. After the game, Bayern reported the severity of the injury.

After medical examination, it has been revealed that Coman will be sidelined for 'several weeks', the club announced. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the European Championship is not yet in danger for the Frenchman.

“Kingsley Coman is expected back in time to be part of the France selection for the European Championship,” the Italian reports on .”

Coman's injury is bad news for Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel. Next week he will also have to make do without the injured Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané in the return match against Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Champions League is the only prize that Bayern still has a chance of winning this year. In the DFB-Pokal the club was eliminated early on by FC Saarbrücken, and in the Bundesliga it is a matter of time before Bayer Leverkusen secures the national title.
