For Arjen Robben, his long-awaited return for FC Groningen against PSV on Sunday afternoon lasted only 29 minutes. The 36-year-old attacker suffered a thigh muscle injury during a sprint and left the field disappointed. Kenneth Perez asks during the break to put Robben’s failure into perspective.

“A drama with capital letters, of course also for the Robben family. It is also terrible for the parents of Arjen Robben”, the presenter Jan Joost van Gangelen opens the analysis at rest. FOX Sports. Perez understands the disappointment over Robben’s failure, but believes that Van Gangelen ‘should not use too much explicit’. “That it’s terrible for the family and all that,” the Danish analyst cites as an example.

“It’s a muscle injury, nobody died. It’s a muscle injury to a footballer who really wanted to come back, but also a footballer who was in danger of that happening,” Perez stressed. “It has happened now. It is completely jerky, but it is also the risk of returning.”

Perez is convinced that Robben took such a doomsday scenario into account. “He was always very clear about it in his interviews. It took a very short time. Now we have to wait and see how bad it is. It’s not a funeral after all.”
