The ball seems to be rolling quickly regarding the transfer of Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus. After Juventus has completed the outgoing transfer of Matías Soulé to AS Roma, it will, according to Fabrizio Romano, make an initial offer to Atalanta for the Dutch international.

Koopmeiners has been in the concrete interest of Juventus for months, which has already reached a personal agreement with the former AZ player. The wait was for the moment that Juventus would also report to Atalanta, where Koopmeiners is still under contract for three years.

Soulé's transfer to AS Roma is as good as completed. The two clubs have reached an agreement on the fixed transfer fee, bonuses and the resale percentage, Romano reported earlier this evening. Soulé is expected to be presented in the Italian capital within a few days.

This opens the way for a transfer of Koopmeiners to Juventus, although that club will still have to reach an agreement with Atalanta. The expectation is that the Europa League winner will ask Juventus for around sixty million euros.

Koopmeiners emerged as the absolute leader of Atalanta last season. The 26-year-old midfielder from Castricum, who according to Transfer market worth 50 million euros, also made his mark in attack with fifteen goals in all competitions.

Juventus are looking to improve on last season under new coach Thiago Motta, when the club narrowly managed to finish third in Serie A. With Douglas Luiz and Khéphren Thuram, and Whites already acquired two central midfielders and Koopmeiners should become the third.

Atalanta has already brought in a replacement for Koopmeiners in Nicolò Zaniolo. La Dea also strengthened itself with defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana from Cagliari, while centre-back Ben Godfrey joined from Everton.
