Juventus spilled points on Sunday evening in the home game against Hellas Verona in Serie A. The reigning champion made up a 0-1 deficit, but did not get further than 1-1. In addition, defender Leonardo Bonucci was injured in the second half, apparently with his hamstring, and as a result, concerns for trainer Andrea Pirlo over the rear in the run-up to Wednesday’s Champions League game with Barcelona. Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt are currently already in the rag basket. Juventus has collected nine points after five matches in the Serie A.

Juventus played a difficult first half. The home team was regularly put under pressure by Hellas, who, however, got away well when a goal from Álvaro Morata was disallowed because the attacker was narrowly offside. On the stroke of half time, the striker was sent away by Juan Cuadrado and he bounced the ball beautifully over keeper Marco Silvestri. However, after studying the video images, the goal was disallowed.

Shortly before the goal, a shot from Cuadrado had already landed on the bar. Juventus looked particularly threatening in the end of the first half, but could not continue that line in the opening phase of the second company. After an hour Hellas opened the score. The visitors conquered the ball in midfield after a weak pass from Federico Bernardeschi and stormed towards the goal of Juventus. Andrea Favilli was able to hit around the penalty spot: 0-1.

After the goal, Juventus started the hunt for the equalizer. A penalty claim after contact between Aaron Ramsey and Matteo Lovato failed, Silvestri turned a Morata bet and Paulo Dybala hit the bar with a deflected shot before Juventus came to 1-1. Substitute Dejan Kulusevski received the ball on the right flank from Morata, pulled in and found the far corner. Shortly before the goal, Bonucci had dropped out. The defender grabbed his hamstring during a sprint and was replaced by Gianluca Frabotta. In injury time, Morata and Dybala came close to 2-1, but both times Silvestri saved.
