Dusan Vlahovic looks set to make an absolute top transfer next summer. Fiorentina announced via official channels last week that the 21-year-old attacker had rejected an offer to extend his contract in Florence until mid-2023. La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Fiorentina nevertheless attached a price tag of ninety million euros to Vlahovic.

Vlahovic was already linked to a transfer last summer, as Juventus, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City and Internazionale, among others, would have been expressly interested. Fiorentina took over the ten-time Serbian international in 2018 for just under two million euros from Partizan Belgrade and since then he has played for 92 games. la Viola, in which he accounted for 35 goals and 5 assists. With a new contract, Fiorentina hoped after his excellent last season – with 21 goals in Serie A – to brush off the interested top clubs for the time being.

At the moment, Vlahovic earns 800,000 euros a year at Fiorentina, but that salary could have increased fivefold to 4 million euros. The five-year contract that was ready for Vlahovic was labeled the best in club history by Fiorentina chairman Rocco Commisso. “Fiorentina made Vlahovic an important offer that made him the highest paid player in club history,” Commisso told Fiorentina’s website. “Our offering has been improved several times to meet Dusan’s requirements. But despite our best efforts, the offer was not accepted.”

“He has another contract that will tie him to Fiorentina for the next 21 months and we are confident he will continue to make his contribution,” said Commisso. Several top European clubs are currently said to be interested in Vlahovic’s services, but Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Internazionale are currently listed as concrete candidates. However, Fiorentina is not yet planning to let Vlahovic go just like that, because the asking price is now no less than ninety million euros.
