Justin Kluivert gave Valencia a very important point in LaLiga late on Monday evening. The winger scored against Rayo Vallecano in the 81st minute from the penalty spot to make it 1-1. The plagued Valencia thus climbs out of the relegation zone on goal difference and is now seventeenth. The battle at the bottom of LaLiga is extremely exciting, because Espanyol and Almería may have points as Valencia in 18th and 19th place. The teams above are also very close. The bottom three are relegated directly.

Particularities:
Kluivert again started on the right side of the attack at Valencia. Eye-catcher Edinson Cavani, plagued by injuries this season, was back in the starting line-up for the first time in two months. At Rayo, Radamel Falcao remained on the bench for the entire match. Valencia’s defense was asleep in the ninth minute and released Santi Comesana completely. Rayo’s midfielder was able to control a cross in peace and blast in: 0-1. Valencia had to chase the entire game. Eight minutes before time loose Che after a VAR intervention a penalty due to a handball. Kluivert gained the confidence of his teammates and slid the ball in from eleven meters in a very controlled manner: 1-1.
