Ajax considers Joshua Zirkzee a serious candidate to strengthen the striker position, the German reports Sky Sports. In any case, the team from Amsterdam wants to attract a competitor for Brian Brobbey and was already linked to Fábio Silva on Monday, who is rented by PSV from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The rumors about Bundesliga strikers are pressing Sky into the head. “Both André Silva (RB Leipzig) and Dodi Lukébakio (Hertha BSC) are not an option for Ajax,” said German journalist Florian Plettenberg. Ajax is once again looking at the possibilities of incorporating Zirkzee, as the capitals have been linked more often to the now 22-year-old striker of Bologna in recent years. Zirkzee had an extremely difficult first season in Italy, in which he was unable to enforce a starting place.

Zirkzee has to make do with Bologna mainly with raids behind first choice Marko Arnautovic and has eighteen appearances in the competition. Thirteen of them were substitutes. Zirkzee scored only once in Serie A and provided two assists. At Bologna, which transferred 8.5 million euros to Bayern Munich for his services last year, he is fixed until mid-2026.

So far, Ajax has only one pure center striker for next season, namely Brobbey. Dusan Tadic also played in the front of John Heitinga’s first period, but was moved to the left and the 10 position at the end of the season. Ajax also had the rental Lorenzo Lucca at their disposal, who could not impress and will return to Pisa.
