The ongoing corona crisis is a complete blow to most football clubs in Europe. Jorge Mendes, however, has no setbacks in the current transfer period. According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodríguez, among others, has earned around twenty million euros on transfers in recent weeks.

The newspaper bases the data on the ten percent that Mendes can stipulate as a commission for transfers from FIFA. Partly due to four recent transfers, the super agent from Portugal reaches the million amount, according to the aforementioned medium. Mendes has ensured that Rubén Dias made the switch from Benfica to Manchester City for 68 million euros, while Nélson Semedo exchanged Barcelona for a transfer fee of at least 30 million euros for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mendes is reportedly raising 6.8 million euros for the Dias deal and bringing Semedo to the Premier League earns the business adviser three million euros.

Mendes also has four million euros left over from the transfer of Fabio Silva from FC Porto to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The transfer of the Portuguese top scorer involved an amount of forty million euros. He also adds 4.4 million euros for his help with the switch from Diogo Jota, who left Wolverhampton Wanderers for an adventure at Liverpool. Involving Nicolás Otamendi in Manchester City’s deal regarding Dias will earn Mendes an additional 1.5 million euros.

Mendes is expected to close more deals in the final phase of the transfer period, which runs until October 5. The Greek medium SDNA reports that Olympiacos is in the market for Anwar El Ghazi, who is affiliated with Gestifute, Mendes’ brokerage firm. The Greek top club is thinking of a rental deal for the wing attacker of Aston Villa.
