Johan Derksen stops making television, he reveals in his biography DERKSEN. Veronica Inside’s analyst is serving his contract and will disappear from the screen from the summer of 2022. “I’ve been doing the same trick for 24 years, but it’s going to bother me. I find myself increasingly using automatic pilot ”, says Derksen, aged 72, in a foretaste of the Algemeen Dagblad, which publishes the full interview through Mezza, the newspaper’s weekend magazine. Talk shows don’t have to call Derksen either. “They like to have me at the table, because I get involved in everything. That gives a buzz, doesn’t it. I am exploited. I don’t like it. “
“All those famous Dutch people in all those programs, they just keep popping up. I don’t want to be part of that, but it happens unnoticed anyway. But I have so many other fun things to do. I’m not going to miss it. ”
At Talpa, Derksen initially smelled other opportunities when, together with René van der Gijp and Wilfred Genee, during the corona period he just ‘full of fun’ about the current events of the day on TV. “The Talpa management saw this as an opportunity and wanted a show every day, after the Meilandjes. I saw that. I’m a little bit done with all that shit about Messi and Maradona. Everything that happens is predictable. But René thought five evenings were too much and Wilfred suddenly found that radio show so much fun. ”
“I find it disgusting what they do there. With incredible pussy music, Boulevard-like subjects and two grown people laughing at Wilfred for two hours. Anyway, that’s his choice. DERKSEN, recorded by Michel van Egmond and Antoinnette Scheulderman, will be released on May 31. Derksen’s life, both in front of and behind the camera, is described in the book.
