Joan Laporta appeals to the supporters the day after the painful defeat of Barcelona against Bayern Munich (0-3). The president of Barcelona asks for support for the club management. In a video, which he published on Twitter with accompanying text in Catalan, Spanish and English, Laporta makes clear that “the situation will be resolved” and asks supporters to be patient.

“A message for all cules: trust and support our team. Do not doubt that we will resolve this situation. Visca el Barca“, Laporta writes in the video on Wednesday. In the video he addresses the supporters of Barcelona directly. “I am just as disappointed and upset as all of you”, the chairman refers to Tuesday evening’s defeat. “I want to tell you that what happened is something we took into account. I ask for your patience and your support for our team.”

“I also ask you to have faith in us, in the people who run the club. We need your trust and patience. Do not doubt that we will resolve this situation. Thank you very much and visca el Barcelona“, says Laporta in conclusion. He does not indicate how the situation will be resolved. According to Spanish media, the defeat on Tuesday evening led to crisis consultations in the Camp Nou. El Chiringuito there has been an ‘intense consultation’ between Laporta and trainer Ronald Koeman.

It was not a punishment like in the summer of last year. Barcelona then lost 2-8 to Bayern. Although Koeman’s team suffered a smaller defeat, the reviews are not tender. Barcelona couldn’t get a foothold and didn’t even score a single shot on goal. It was the first time in the history of the Champions League that the Catalans were so impotent from an attacking point of view. The shocking defeat would have led to an intense consultation with the club management until deep into the night. The outcome of the consultation is unknown at this time.
