A serious traffic accident from 2014 may still get a tail for Jeffrey Bruma. According to Broadcasting Brabant the defender of VfL Wolfsburg is facing a lawsuit, now that an investigation has shown that Bruma was driving far too fast on the day in question. In the accident in Eindhoven, two cars collided and three women were injured. Bruma drove one of the cars and went free at first.

One of the women had an investigation carried out which would show that Bruma was driving at least eighty kilometers per hour. The former PSV defender has, according to personal injury specialist Maarten Brekelmans, who has reported it to the Public Prosecution Service in Den Bosch, that he was driving much slower than the maximum speed of fifty kilometers per hour. The jurist’s findings are also based on on-the-spot speed tests and witness statements, which had not been heard before.

Brekelmans represents the interests of Marja Voorkamp, one of the three women in the other car who was injured. She sustained irreparable brain damage and now hopes that the judicial authorities will prosecute. Should that happen, Bruma’s then club PSV may also experience consequences. According to Brekelmans, the club played a bad role in ‘concealing’ the truth, although PSV indicated at an earlier stage that it was not aware of any harm. The East Brabant police also announced that the case was settled in their opinion.
