Dusan Tadic gave Ajax the lead in the fourteenth minute of the match in the semi-final of the TOTO KNVB Cup against Feyenoord. The captain of the team from Amsterdam reacted alertly when the ball fell after a misunderstanding at Feyenoord between Marcus Pedersen and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who knocked each other over when clearing a bad cross. Fortunately, Tadic got the ball at his feet and did not hesitate to poke in: 0-1.

The Classic came to a standstill in the first minute. Feyenoord supporters set off massive fireworks after the start signal from referee Allard Lindhout, resulting in an enormous smoke development. The referee had no choice but to stop the game after 23 seconds. The players stayed on the field and kept warm by playing the ball around. After a few minutes the game could be resumed.

The first big chance of the game was for Feyenoord. Santiago Giménez accelerated impressively away from his only remaining guard, Edson Álvarez, with the ball at his foot. Giménez came face to face with goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli, who managed to save by coming out quickly. After Tadic’s 0-1, Giménez was knocked down by Jurriën Timber in a new, good gear, who got yellow.
