Jack Wilshere is doing everything he can to find a new club and has now recorded a special video with bookmaker Paddy Power. The thirty-year-old midfielder has been keeping his condition up at Arsenal for some time and is open to anything. “Except Tottenham Hotspur”, the Englishman winks.

The comically intended video is kicked off by two marketing executives presenting their ‘retirement plans for Wilshere’. The experienced midfielder left Bournemouth last summer and has not been able to find a new employer since. “It’s only been six months,” Wilshere says in the video. “That’s three Watford managers,” the marketing manager jokes. “Football has changed.”

Wilshere receives a ‘digital strategy’ from the marketing people to return to professional football. To stay relevant, he has to film his workouts with a GoPro. Ben Foster is being mocked by this. The 38-year-old Watford goalkeeper asked for permission last summer to film his matches with such a camera. Images of it are on his YouTube channel.

Wilshere also reads a short apology message in the video. “Sorry I forgot to take out the bins this week, that wasn’t enough,” said the former Arsenal player. “A little short,” Wilshere is told. “Bruno Fernandes had written at least fifteen paragraphs.” The Manchester United midfielder made a long statement this season after missing a penalty against Aston Villa.

In the end Wilshere decides to keep his open application simple. “Jack Wilshere. Fit, ready and available for offers,” said the 34-time international. “Except for Tottenham.” Wilshere was recently linked to Fortaleza in the Brazilian press, but that does not seem concrete for the time being.
