Jack Grealish’s girlfriend has made a shocking revelation. Sasha Attwood says on her YouTube channel that she received two hundred death threats a day via social media during the European Championship. “Two hundred a day, I’m not exaggerating. Every day I got so many messages. I still get those messages every day,” said Attwood, 25, who has known Grealish since she was 16.

“People write: ‘I hope you get cancer and die’. Or, “I hope your whole family dies.” Or, “I hope the next time you’re in the car you get into an accident and die.” Or, “I hope you die after you’ve been to Wembley.” Things exploded during the European Championship, but I never thought it would be this bad in a million years. I just find it unbelievable how rude to people can be for no reason at all,” Attwood says. She has known Grealish since childhood and has been dating him since this summer. Initially, the two kept their relationship a secret, but Attwood was spotted at Wembley sitting in the stands in front of Grealish. This has led to strong reactions from mainly young women.

“I’ve always been a strong personality and I’m good at blocking other people’s opinions. But this was on a whole different level. It’s insane. The filthy posts about my appearance, people’s opinions. What are you all doing? It’s a shame,” emphasizes Grealish’s girlfriend, who received threats on TikTok and Instagram. “You hear people talking about trolling, but I never realized how bad it really was. The scary thing is, it’s all young girls who do this. When I go to the accounts of the girls who send me these messages, they turn out to be thirteen or fourteen.”

“It’s so sad. I try to hold on to the fact that they don’t know any better because of their age. But at the same time, I didn’t send messages like this at that age. Social media is toxic, it’s very sad that generations are growing up thinking this is okay. What are you doing? Ask yourself why you’re doing this,” Attwood continues. “If you’re one of those people who uses a fake account to send terrible messages, wish someone dead or talk about their private life, why? It was awful, it made me feel bad. I didn’t ask for this, but it does exist. I try to deal with it as normal as possible.”

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka have already faced racist messages on social media after they missed the penalty shootout of the European Championship final against Italy. Álvaro Morata’s wife, Alice, also revealed earlier that she had faced curses towards her and her children around the European Championship. Instagram has announced an investigation into the threats against Attwood.
