Erik ten Hag has spoken critically about the corona policy that is being pursued in the Netherlands on Sunday. After the won championship game with FC Emmen (4-0), the Ajax coach gives in front of the camera ESPN to know that the corona rules are ‘totally inimitable’. The reason for the critical note to the government is the decision not to allow supporters to attend the championship match.

“How do you feel about the corona rules being violated?”, Reporter Hans Kraay junior asks Ten Hag, who then does not hide his opinion. “What matters is that what is happening is totally inimitable. Last week the supporters were allowed to be there and then you actually give them a sausage. Then they (the government, ed.) Sell it without offering any perspective. Then it is hard for the fans that they cannot be here. For us too, of course, because we cannot celebrate with them in the stadium. ”

“And there are more things in the corona policy that Jan with the hat and I can no longer follow”, Ten Hag continues his opinion. “The mouth masks were not necessary, but we have been using them for a year. The curfew apparently had no effect either. And this is another example of this ”, the coach refers to the fact that no supporters could be present at the matches in the 31st round in the Eredivisie. Later in the conversation with Hans Kraay, Ten Hag does rectify his statements somewhat. “Of course it was all very understandable and we all accepted it. And that’s the way it should be, because as a good citizen you have to accept government policy. ”

The coach and the selection of Ajax were sung aloud on the parking deck of the Johan Cruijf ArenA by thousands of fans present who are celebrating the 35th national championship. The municipality of Amsterdam asked Ajax to end the festivities after a while, after which the fans left. “The triangle looked at it for a moment and let it happen. We have now asked Ajax to end the action on deck ”, a spokesperson for mayor Femke Halsema told the NOS. By the way, Ajax has indicated in a response that it has gone to the parking deck in consultation with the local triangle.
