Valentijn Driessen is happy that Joey Veerman is fit enough to start for PSV in the away match against FC Volendam on Sunday. The midfielder of the leader was absent for several weeks due to injuries and, according to the football chief of The Telegraph that was noticeable.

“It is really necessary for PSV that Joey Veerman gets around to playing quickly,” Driessen said highly about the inspector in Kick Offthe podcast of The Telegraph. “We saw that last week against Ajax. PSV simply misses him with his creative ability.”

“He can bring the ball higher on the field and release people. That is of course a pleasure to watch. Someone who is not there is getting bigger and better, that also applies to Joey Veerman. But of course he is a great player, PSV really needs him.”

“So I'm curious to see what he will show to De Dijk,” Driessen anticipates Veerman's playing time in PSV's away match in Volendam on Sunday.

Bosz
In addition to Veerman, Bosz also has Malik Tillman and Ricardo Pepi at his disposal. “Most of them are back. They have trained and will be there. Only Noa Lang and Guus Til are not yet,” the PSV coach said on Friday at the press conference prior to the Volendam away match.

Bosz knows that there is unrest in Volendam because of the lawsuit between the team of former head coach and technical director Wim Jonk and his old employer and the disappointing seventeenth place. “I will of course talk to Joey about it this morning. I expect a team that will do everything it can to stay in the Eredivisie.”
