Latest update:

This year it will once again be a very busy summer in Amsterdam. The Ajax selection is going through a major overhaul. Many of Sven Mislintat's acquisitions are due for a lightning departure and a transfer of Steven Bergwijn is also likely. The future of strongman Brian Brobbey is also uncertain.

Mislintat attracted 110 million euros worth of players, but a quick exit from the Johan Cruijff ArenA awaits the majority of them. Three of his twelve transfers turned out well, according to the technical management.

“Only for Diant Ramaj, Branco van den Boomen and Sivert Mannsverk is the interim balance in the right direction, for the rest disappointment or at best still doubt prevails at the moment,” writes Football International.

A major cleaning of the Amsterdam selection is therefore a matter of time. But at Ajax we now also have to pay attention to the little ones. Sales must first be made before investments can be made.

New general manager Alex Kroes, who is known for his 'stinginess', must, together with Marijn Beuker and Kelvin de Lang, put together a selection that contains a mix of young talent and experienced quality. “Ajax needs money and is not in a position to simply refuse bids.”

A departure of key players cannot therefore be ruled out. “Normally, Ajax would do everything in its power to keep stars like Ramaj, but given the financial situation, every player seems to be sellable, provided the right amount is paid.”

Ajax also hopes for a good European Championship from the necessary selection players. Borna Sosa and Josip Sutalo are particularly hoping for good performances with Croatia, so that the duo can be signed for an 'acceptable price'.

Moreover, there is a chance that the entire vanguard will be overhauled. “It is expected that Bergwijn will make his desired transfer abroad,” he said VI. “And Brobbey is also receiving a lot of information from abroad.”
