Johan Derksen continues to look skeptically at the performance of the the Dutch Lionesses. The regular table guest of Today Inside Still can't bring myself to watch an entire match. Derksen nevertheless had an opinion about the 4-0 victory over the Belgian women on Tuesday evening.

“It starts to look like football every now and then,” Derksen kicked off the item about the the Dutch Lionesses on Wednesday evening. “I think it's a great performance. I didn't watch ten minutes because it doesn't even look like football. If you like football, you don't watch.”

Genee tried in vain to get Derksen enthusiastic with the 4-0 of the Netherlands against Belgium, which meant that the team of national coach Andries Jonker qualified for the Final Four at the expense of England. “Yes, very nice,” was the cynical answer.

Derksen did comment positively about Jonker. “I have to say that I don't like that Jonker very much. Because I used to think he was just a talker. But he's not doing a bad job. And he doesn't say crazy things either. I think he's very realistic.”

“So I wish them the best. It is always better if the Netherlands is there, at the Olympic Games,” said Derksen, who is also very pleased with the development of goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar. “The Netherlands has one thing: they have a fantastic goalkeeper, that girl from Enschede.” Van Domselaar is from Beverwijk and plays goalkeeper at Aston Villa.

In extremes
The the Dutch Lionesses qualified for the Final Four of the Nations League after an insane denouement. Therefore, Jonker's team still has a chance of winning a ticket for the Olympic Games. A dubious scenario seemed to take place with England's 0-6 victory in Scotland, but due to two goals in injury time, the Dutch women finished as group winners.

Scotland – England 0-6
Because only the group winner would have a chance of an Olympic ticket, England had to beat Scotland by a large margin. Ironically, Scotland also benefited from a big loss. Only in that case would Scottish players be allowed to participate in the Games on behalf of Team Great Britain.

It led to a dubious 0-4 lead already in the first half. Alex Greenwood headed the English into a lead in minute 12, after which Lauren James significantly expanded the lead with two goals in two minutes: 0-4. Beth Mead scored her first international goal for a 0-4 lead; Fran Kirby put the 0-5 on the board shortly after halftime, after which Lucy Bronze shot the 0-6 against the ropes in minute 90+3. However, it turned out to be worthless.

Standing Group 1:
1. Netherlands 6-12 (14-6)
2. England 6-12 (15-8)
3. Belgium 6-8 (7-8)
4. Scotland 6-2 (3-14)
