SC Cambuur did an excellent job on Friday-evening on the loss of points in the previous two games. The team of trainer Henk de Jong easily settled in-house with Jong FC Utrecht, which was beaten 5-2 thanks to no fewer than four goals from Issa Kallon. Kallon also made four hits in one match 344 days ago against TOP Oss (5-1). At the same time as Cambuur’s game, MVV Maastricht booked a big home win at TOP Oss: 3-0.

SC Cambuur – Jong FC Utrecht 5-2
Cambuur had trouble in the first phase of the game to achieve great opportunities, although the Frisians had the better of the game. On the stroke of half time Cambuur eventually struck twice. First, Kallon was able to take advantage in the rebound, after a free kick by Mitchel Paulissen came back into the field via the post: 1-0. The home team then benefited from loss of possession in midfield at Jong FC Utrecht. The counterattack ended with Kallon, who hit the far corner from the left flank: 2-0.

After the break, Cambuur immediately continued where it left off and became 3-0 after three minutes. Michael Breij got the ball out of whack and finished coolly. Less than six minutes later, Kallon tapped a low cross from the right by Jamie Jacobs at the far post. The game was therefore long and wide played, although the promises of Utrecht did something back in the 83rd minute. Jeredy Hilterman thoughtfully tapped in after a low pass from Tim Pieters: 4-1. Shortly afterwards, Utrecht goalkeeper Joey Houweling just played the ball into the feet of Kallon, who signed for his fourth of the evening from a great distance: 5-1. The final chord was for Pieters, who benefited from a mistake by substitute Alex Bangura: 5-2.

MVV Maastricht – TOP Oss 3-0
While TOP Oss is still waiting for the first victory of the season, MVV also took only four points from the first four games. The first half eventually lasted no less than 46 minutes, because TOP Oss midfielder Grad Damen had to be treated for minutes and left the field with a stretcher. In the long first half there were chances on both sides, but it took until fifteen minutes after the break before the game was broken open. Joeri Schroijen curled the opening goal against the ropes from the edge of the penalty area in an extremely beautiful way.

With twenty minutes to go, TOP Oss ran into further problems when Lorenzo Piqué got a red card. In the end, it was Schroijen who decided the game with his second goal and after that the resistance of the visitors was finally broken. MVV then quickly lifted the lead to 3-0, when Joy-Lance Mickels hit a ricochet shot from Koen Kostons against the ropes. TOP Oss could have received an honorary goal via Cas Peters, but MVV goalkeeper Bill Lathouwers made sure that the 3-0 score remained on the scoreboard.
