The seriousness of Sergio Aguero’s calf injury is even worse than initially thought. Spanish media reported an absence of three to four weeks on Sunday. RAC1 and Sport are now reporting that Aguero will be out of circulation for ten weeks, so that he will not be available again for trainer Ronald Koeman until mid-November.

Agüero is struggling with a tear in a calf muscle of his right leg. Spanish media assured on Sunday that Barcelona’s medical staff assumed the Manchester City striker would be absent for three to four weeks. With that, Aguero would miss the first three games in LaLiga. Sport and RAC1 report, however, that the severity of the calf injury is much worse.

True ASH states that Agüero will be out of circulation at least until October, report Sport and RAC1 that the Argentine striker will not be able to make his official debut for Barcelona until mid-November. According to that lecture, the rehabilitation of the calf injury will take at least ten weeks. Agüero was missing on Sunday in the 3-0 win for the Trofeo Joan Gamper against Juventus, as were Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembélé.

Reports surfaced after the news of the Barcelona-Lionel Messi split that Aguero wanted to get out of his recent contract, which runs until mid-2023. Those messages were debunked by Koeman after the duel with Juventus. “It is a lie that Aguero wants to leave Barcelona. He has signed with Barcelona and is looking forward to playing. Unfortunately, he was injured and was unable to play. We have to wait until he is fit again, in that respect he has taken a step backwards. He trained and showed that with his qualities he can contribute a lot to our team.”
