Phil Foden and his family are the subject of discussion in England on Sunday. A video is circulating en masse in which a woman, reportedly mother Claire Foden, is punched after an altercation in the Manchester Arena. It is not clear when exactly the incident took place and whether this was Saturday evening, hours after Manchester City’s home game against Tottenham Hotspur (2-3 loss).
The video shows Foden and a blond woman, presumably his girlfriend Rebecca Cooke, walking down a hallway, looking for their seats in the complex, which mainly hosts concerts and sporting events. The boxing fight between Amir Khan and Kell Brook was scheduled for Saturday, but it is not clear whether the images are from that evening. The Manchester City attacker and the England national team are then scolded by three men, ostensibly fans of Liverpool, for cunt† Foden says something back and continues on. The blond lady stands in the doorway and starts an altercation with the threesome, after which another lady joins.

Foden’s presumed mother is clearly agitated and ends up pushing one of the men vigorously. This person, who can avoid falling, responds with a punch to her face, after which things get completely out of hand. Foden’s suspected mother confronts them, and gets help from others. Foden also joins in the tumult, although he is quickly told (after 45 seconds in the video) that he must not do anything. †Get away, get away”, it sounds like that.
At the end of the video of more than a minute and a half, it can also be seen that the presumed mother of Foden eventually pulls out and another person from Foden’s company grabs a fire extinguisher. He eventually throws it at the company. The images are also massively picked up by the media.
It is not the first time that Foden’s mother has been in the news in such a way. Last year she is said to have suffered injuries during a party that got out of hand. Another woman was even left with two blue eyes from the incident and had bite marks on her body.
