Iker Casillas has ended up in hospital again due to heart problems, it reveals ASH. Things went wrong for the former Real Madrid, FC Porto and Spain goalkeeper on April 28 during a game of padel with friends. Casillas complained of chest pain and an abnormally high heart rate. More than a week ago, he was immediately transported to a hospital in Madrid for examinations. A short time later, the former player was allowed to go home again.
A few days after going to the hospital in the Spanish capital, Casillas posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the text ‘Two years after date’. With this, the former closing post referred to his heart attack on May 1, 2019 at the FC Porto training field. At the time, Casillas was rushed to hospital for surgery. Two years ago, the doctors diagnosed a myocardial infarction, an infarction of the tissue of the heart. Afterwards he did not play anymore and last summer the career of the goalkeeper finally came to an end.
It now seems to be going better with Casillas, who showed via Instagram on Wednesday that he had a successful run behind him. The club icon of Real wanted to make a bid for the presidency of the Spanish Football Association in 2020, while he was also named as an advisor to Real president Florentino Pérez. In both cases, however, Casillas failed to achieve his ambition.
