Rafael van der Vaart is sometimes annoyed by Wout Weghorst, the analyst says in the studio of the NOS. Before the semi-final of the European Championship between the Netherlands and England, the channel shows a video with highlights of the Dutch striker, but the video is not very well received by Van der Vaart.

“Do you think this is a great film?” Van der Vaart asks presenter Gert van 't Hof. “I think it's a great film for eighty percent.”

“For that other twenty percent, as a fellow player I would have something like: this could be a bit less, Wout. I'm not talking about arrogance, but he gives you the feeling that it all has to revolve around him. And we as media participate in that.”

“As a teammate, you can also get really annoyed by it. If I were Memphis, I would be really annoyed by it. It all works out. It's good and then you have friends.”

“Maybe I'm saying too much now, but as a teammate I would be annoyed by it too. And that's the twenty percent of the video that I don't like. But of course you can't say anything about the energy he gives.”

Weghorst has not yet been given a starting spot at the European Championship, but he has been allowed to play minutes in every match. So far, the striker has scored a goal and an assist. He will also have to settle for a reserve role against England.

Bart Verbruggen is in goal for the Dutch national team. The defense is formed by Denzel Dumfries, Stefan de Vrij, Virgil van Dijk and Nathan Aké. Jerdy Schouten forms the block in midfield with Tijjani Reijnders, while Xavi Simons is at 10. Memphis Depay is the striker and is flanked by Malen (right) and Cody Gakpo (left).
