Zlatan Ibrahimovic has considered returning to Paris Saint-Germain this spring, he knows Le Parisien to report. The striker let agent Mino Raiola gauge the mood in the French capital, but received zero on Leonardo’s request. Ibrahimovic then decided to extend his contract for another year at AC Milan, where he will receive an annual salary of seven million euros next season.

Ibrahimovic left AC Milan in the waiting room for some time last season when he negotiated a return with PSG. The Swede made an emphatic appeal to Raiola, who had to facilitate conversations with Leonardo. However, the French top club had other plans and was not convinced of Ibrahimovic’s story. The attack leader has never hidden his love for Paris and PSG and left the French capital with a heavy heart in 2016 for an adventure at Manchester United.

It remains to be seen when Ibrahimovic can return to action for AC Milan, as he is currently recovering from an injury. The Swede missed the European Championship due to a knee injury, which he sustained on May 9 in a league game against Juventus. Milan has already prepared for the absence of Ibrahimovic and strengthened itself at the end of last month with Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman who came over from Chelsea immediately proved his worth by hitting the target three minutes after his substitute in the friendly match against Lille OSC.

Ibrahimovic will celebrate his 40th birthday on October 3 and, thanks to his contract extension, still has a chance to become AC Milan’s oldest player ever. Before that, the Swedish attacker will join another season after this i Rossoneria must remain, as the record is held by Alessandro Costacurta, who was 41 years and 25 days old at his last game. Behind it is Paolo Maldini at 40 years, 11 months and 5 days.
