During his presentation to the French superpower, the midfielder was asked about the situation around Mbappé and Pogba and was very firm about this. Pogba has been increasingly linked in recent weeks with a move from Manchester United to PSG, while Mbappe has still not made a decision on whether or not to extend his contract.
Wijnaldum and Pogba have already met regularly in the Premier League, as players of Liverpool and Manchester United. French media write that players like Mauro Icardi are on the list to be sold in order to free up money for Pogba. “He’s great, I’ve played against him several times and what a fantastic player,” the midfielder praised RMC Sports. “If you ask a player from another team if he wants Paul Pogba to come, everyone will say ‘yes’ to that. He is an extraordinary player, full of qualities.”

Unfortunately for PSG, the negotiations with Mbappé are a lot more difficult. The French forward is unwilling to renew his contract and has been linked several times with a move to Real Madrid. “Everyone wants Mbappe to stay,” Wijnaldum said. “Starting with me. He’s one of the reasons I came to PSG, to play with players like him. I was already very happy to see Neymar extended. But I’ve been in the same situation and usually follow suit. I can only hope he stays because the club is doing its best to make this team the best team in the world.”
