Jose Mourinho is not having his best weeks as Roma trainer. The Portuguese coach has only won one of the last four matches and will face AC Milan on Sunday evening. Prior to that topper, Mourinho was questioned by the press during the closing press conference, which clearly did not help him.

Despite the mediocre series, Roma can continue the unbeaten home series against Milan. The Romans have not lost a single game in the Stadio Olimpico this season and hope to continue that line against the team of trainer Stefano Pioli. During the press conference, it was mainly about the number of goals conceded by Roma after the break. Mourinho’s team went wrong four times in the Conference League against Bodö-Glimt (6-1) in the second half.

When the trainer was pointed this out, he was clearly not pleased. “For me it would be more frustrating if we conceded a goal in the first five minutes of a game,” Mourinho said. “I am honestly impressed by your ability to pick out the negative everywhere. I am starting to understand more and more why it is difficult to work at AS Roma. At other clubs you are much more protected and you feel more positivity.”

Mourinho can have an almost fit group at his disposal when visiting Milan. Only Chris Smalling and Leonardo Spinazzola have to miss the game due to injury. “The recovery of Spinazzola is going well,” Mourinho said. “There have been no setbacks and the experts are happy with his progress. So that’s good news, but I don’t want to put any time pressure on it.” The Portuguese is expected to take on the same eleven against Milan as he did against Cagliari midweek, when the current number four in Serie A won 1-2.
