Players’ union VVCS has once again warned professional footballers not to be tempted into match fixing. On Twitter, the union shows an example of a request for match fixing. “Posts like this are doing the rounds on Instagram. Do not be tempted to match fixing and report it to the KNVB tip line,” the VVCS writes on Twitter.

The VVCS says that requests for match fixing can also be reported anonymously to the KNVB. The players’ union also shares a request for match fixing via social media. In the request, one hundred thousand euros per match is offered if a player would be willing to influence the match. “I’ll pay you with Bitcoin. This payment is not traceable.”

“We recently received reports of Instagram messages requesting the recipient to cooperate in match fixing. Perhaps unnecessarily, we point out the regulatory ban on participating in match fixing and the obligation to report this to the KNVB. This can be done (possibly anonymously) by telephone via the KNVB match fixing tip line,” the VVCS writes in a message signed by Evgeniy Levchenko, chairman of the players’ union.
