Marcus Pedersen first came into action on behalf of Feyenoord last Saturday. The right back, who has reportedly been taken over from Molde FK for a million euros, made an eager impression in the exhibition game with AEK Athens (3-1 win). In conversation with the General Newspaper let the Norwegian talent know that the playing style of trainer Arne Slot is made for him.

“I’m used to that pressing, putting pressure on the opponent. That’s how Molde wanted to play too,” said Pedersen, who signed a five-year contract in Rotterdam. “I heard two months ago that Feyenoord was following me. The transfer to Rotterdam was finally settled in a week or two,” continues Pedersen, who couldn’t wait to make the switch. “From Norway to the Eredivisie, that’s a great step. Here they have trained a lot of good players and it is a big club.”

Pedersen made himself abundantly available last Saturday, especially in attacking terms. According to the newspaper, the back sometimes seemed a bit over-enthusiastic during his unofficial debut. “That’s why it’s good if new players are already there,” said Slot. “Pedersen has two and a half weeks to get used to our way of playing. And that’s good, because there are some things to work on. He was sometimes very deep, actually right against the back of AEK.”

Pedersen is one of the three signings of Feyenoord this transfer period. Guus Til previously came over from Spartak Moscow on a rental basis, while Ofir Marciano was taken over from Hibernian on a free transfer. The latter was brought in as second goalkeeper.
