FC Utrecht is looking for a successor for John van den Brom who left for Racing Genk. The name of Frank Wormuth is mentioned in the corridors, but the coach of Heracles Almelo has not yet had contact with the club management in De Galgenwaard. Wormuth also refers to his contract with his current employer, which will run until the summer of 2021.

“I still have a contract with Heracles”, Wormuth explains in a response on Sunday TC Tubantia. The German trainer in Dutch service has often been associated with an interim departure from Heracles, but he thinks it is more important to serve out his contract in Almelo. Wormuth saw his formation go down against VVV-Venlo on Saturday evening in the final phase: 3-2. Heracles currently occupies tenth place in the Eredivisie.

Wormuth still feels at home with Heracles, despite the departure of several key players last summer. Top scorer Cyriel Dessers, for example, chose the adventure at Racing Genk. “I knew what I was signing for,” said Wormuth, who extended his contract for one year in February of this year. “Heracles is a training club. Young players come, we try to improve and sell them. Then things don’t always go easy or the way you want them.”

Jordy Zuidam, technical director of FC Utrecht, takes the time to succeed Van den Brom. René Hake is doing the honors for the time being. “We have now consciously chosen to create peace of mind. We have the luxury that we can pass on a very good trainer with him. That gives us peace of mind. In the coming period we can take the time to make the best choice for FC Utrecht.” , Zuidam said on Sunday prior to the home game with Ajax FOX Sports. Besides Wormuth, Henk Fraser, Mark van Bommel and Fred Rutten have also been mentioned. “Those are nice names, but I’m not going to say anything about them. I will not go into names,” said the Utrecht director.
