Nathan van Kooperen will be there on Sunday Good morning Eredivisie responded to the criticism he received recently. The agent came under fire for his involvement in Jordan Henderson's deal to Ajax.

Van Kooperen, who represents the interests of Ajax midfielder Silvano Vos, among others, was involved in the deal from Henderson to Amsterdam. The agent dropped another bomb at the end of August by calling Ajax a 'buying club' after the club showed interest in Sivert Mannsverk, who was eventually also incorporated.

With their interest in Mannsverk, Ajax caused bad blood with Van Kooperen. Due to the interest, and subsequently the arrival of the Norwegian midfielder, Vos had little prospect of playing time at Ajax in the eyes of his agent.

This winter, however, Van Kooperen himself was involved in the transition from Henderson to Ajax. Due to the arrival of the 33-year-old midfielder, the prospect of playing minutes for Vos in the main squad will most likely shrink considerably.

“That tweet about 'buying club' happened out of emotion. In retrospect, that was perhaps not so useful. We had made an agreement with Sven (Mislintat, ed.) that no more midfielder would be brought in. That happened three days before the closing of the market with Mannsverk,” says Van Kooperen.

Hans Kraay junior does not understand that Van Kooperen, of all people, initiated Henderson at Ajax. “I think the situation at Ajax is currently very different from last summer. I think everyone could see what Ajax missed in the first half of the season. Then it is not surprising that you go all out for Henderson if you see such a type. player can achieve.”

Marciano Vink wonders whether players are happy with tweets like those from last summer. “He (Vos, ed.) has to go to that club. Everyone knows that Silvano is with you and it's just about that tweet. Was he happy with that?”

“It's best to ask him yourself,” says Van Kooperen. “I did that,” Vink answers. “He wasn't happy with it. He didn't think it was necessary either. Driouech's agent did the same and a deal like that falls through. Then you have to justify such a tweet with your tail between your legs. I don't understand why agents want to vent in the media.”

Van Kooperen does not elaborate on this further. However, on his role in the transfer of Henderson. “I knew what Ajax was looking for and knew that he was unhappy in Saudi Arabia. Kelvin (de Lang, ed.) also handled this very well. He has been pushing us every day.”
