Heracles Almelo booked a business victory in the Eredivisie on Saturday evening. In-house, the team of trainer Frank Wormuth was too strong for PEC Zwolle with 2-0. The Almelo goal production was provided by Sinan Bakis and Luca De La Torre. It marked the fifth consecutive time that the Heraclieden, who are eleventh, remained unbeaten in a home game, while PEC (eighteenth) saw an end to an unbeaten run of four official games.

From the first whistle, Heracles took the initiative in the match. The attacking spirit immediately resulted in a good opportunity in the sixth minute of play. Nikolai Laursen received a splitting through ball in the box and tested goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou in the bottom right corner, but the latter reacted alertly to the bet. Lamprou capitulated after the second serious warning shot.

With a lot of perseverance, Anas Ouahim managed to capture the ball from the opposing half and serve De La Torre directly. The latter saw Lamprou standing in front of his goal and took care of the 1-0 with a subtle lob. After more than half an hour of play, Heracles’ attacking duo again became dangerous for PEC’s goal; this time, however, Ouahim’s shot just flew past the right post. Ten minutes after the break, the score was doubled.

Bakis made room for the shot on the edge of the box after a nice individual action. The striker had an excellent pass and closed the game. The scorer of the second goal was taken off fifteen minutes before the end in favor of Samuel Armenteros, who made his comeback in the Heracles shirt. The substitute hoped to make it 3-0 in the 82nd minute, but his long-range shot went wide.
