Henk de Jong is grateful for all the support he has received over the past two weeks. Earlier this month, SC Cambuur reported that the trainer has a cyst in the head, or a blister that usually contains fluid. He is currently undergoing further examination and will then undergo a treatment course. From his home, De Jong expresses his gratitude for all the expressions of support that have followed since the announcement of the news.
“Dear people, there I am again,” says De Jong in a video shared by Cambuur on social media. “I have to thank you, first of all for a fantastic year of sports. What we experienced with Cambuur is simply indescribable. How we did that together, then you would not be there, then you would be there… But you were always there! We always felt the support. Thank you for that. You know I’m in a difficult situation right now. I’ve had so many reactions. It’s not normal. That gives so much support for all of us here .”
“I’m going to read everything. I really read everything. But it is not possible for me to answer everything for a while. That takes too much energy. Everyone understands that, I know that,” De Jong continues in the video. “But I would like to thank everyone in this way. It does us so incredibly good. And that applies within our club, but also outside our club. It is not normal. Thanks again for that, also on behalf of my family. I wish everyone happy holidays and a very good 2022. Then we will all be successful again.”
