Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker briefly clashed on Tuesday evening during Chelsea – Liverpool (0-0). In the eyes of the captain, his Brazilian teammate caused unrest by doubting a deep ball from the home team. The damage was limited because João Félix shot the ball over, but that did not stop Henderson from replying to Becker.

The moment came in the second half, when a deep pass from Chelsea went into Liverpool’s box. Alisson visibly doubted, after which Joël Matip decided to head the ball away. The organization at Liverpool was completely turned upside down as a result. However, it was thanks to Félix that it did not cost Liverpool a goal. The Portuguese shot wildly over on a pass from Kai Havertz. Henderson then fiercely lashed out at Alisson.

The captain pointed out to the goalkeeper that he was not communicating properly, after which Alisson bit off. The get-together resulted in a big altercation, as the goalie didn’t seem to accept Henderson’s swipe. In the end, Matip had to intervene to calm the emotions. Alisson was recently named one of the best players of the season by Jürgen Klopp. The Liverpool Echo rates his performance against Chelsea with a 7, the highest of all Reds.

Stuart Pearce points out TalkSport It is not the first time this season that two Liverpool players have had a verbal fight. Last Saturday exactly the same happened in the away game against Manchester City (4-1 loss). Then Matip was given a full blow after not playing the ball fast enough in Henderson’s eyes. However, the central defender seemed more docile than Alisson. The game at Stamford Bridge ended in a goalless draw on Tuesday evening.

“I don’t know if there is still a chance to get into the top four,” Klopp said afterwards. “To achieve that, we have to win almost all our games and the teams above us have to lose points. We are no longer in control, but that is not important. We still have ten games to go. The next one is Arsenal. If we are hard to beat against them, we certainly have a good chance. If not, Arsenal will roll over us. This game was a small step in the right direction.”
