Marciano Vink expects Eran Zahavi to become the top scorer in the Eredivisie this season. The ESPN analyst has been so impressed with the PSV striker that he expects the Israeli to score 27 goals this season. Hans Kraay junior and Kenneth Perez, who also joined in The Ultimate Preparation, were clearly of a different opinion and chose an Ajax player as top scorer of the season.

“The top scorer just becomes Haller”, Kraay starts off. “If he gets just a little more poison, he will score 23 goals this season.” The analyst and former trainer refers in his prediction to an interview he had with Haller in April of this year. Due to the limited goal production, Kraay suggested in the interview that the Ajax attacker was still frustrated about the fact that he was not registered for the knockout phase of the Europa League and that went wrong with the 26-year-old striker.

“We’ve had a bit of an issue about that,” Kraay recalls. Perez agrees with Kraay’s suggestion, but nevertheless goes for another candidate. “23 goals for an Ajax striker is a lot in recent years. But he won’t be. It will be Tadic with 22 goals.” Tadic scored fourteen goals and seventeen assists last season. With that number, he became the most valuable players in the Eredivisie, ahead of Steven Berghuis (18 goals and 12 assists) and Giorgos Giakoumakis (26 goals and 1 assist).

Vink does not agree with the forecasts of his ESPN colleagues and goes for a PSV player as top scorer. “It will be Zahavi, one hundred percent”, Vink believes. “He is razor sharp, stands alone and no longer has to share the striker position with Donyell Malen. He is for Madueke’s falling balls. I tell you: 27 goals.” Vink’s suggestion makes him laugh at Perez. “He has been so impressed with the matches against Galatasaray and Midtjylland, he has become confused.”
